Field Trips
Note: All Field trip options require a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 90 students.
Survival Skills Experience: This field trip option can be taught at our location at Little River Canyon or taught on the school grounds.
The survival skills taught are: Basic personal shelter(s) and construction, how to find and purify water, how to navigate by the sun, and how to signal for help. This field trip option has a minimum requirement of ten students and a maximum cut off at 90 students.
Cost per student $25.00 (2-3 hours)
Student Orienteering Class: This option teaches all the basic skills needed to find your location and to navigate by map and compass. The class is taught at a nearby camping and recreation area at Little River Canyon but can be moved to onsite school location if needed. Students will learn the values of a compass and the many uses it has. Students will be given a small map and compass to take home.
Cost per student $27.50 (2-3 hours)
Field Trip Zip Line: This zip line experience is tailored for beginners and field trips. Each student is locked in and secured by harness and lanyards. This zip line travels 350 foot but only 25 foot off the ground. Waiting students will be engaged in low slack line and team challenges until their turn.

Practical Ingenuity Class: This is a fun class for students that like to build small things with their hands.
Students will learn creative ways to repair, build, or create things like a MacGyver. Students are taught to think to find solutions to fun problems, and solve the impossible. Students will have a created item to take home with them for further learning.

TAS Field Trip Hike: This is an informative hike that teaches some eatable plants, basic tree identification, and wildlife spotting. This hike is full of fun skills and creates the desire to get outdoors and off the videogames.
Cost per student $14.50 (1-2 hours)
Field Trip Climbing Experience: This climbing experience is limited to a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 50 students. This Climbing Experience will teach each student the safety aspects needed to rock climb, how to safely belay someone, basics of rock climbing, types of holds to look for, and foot placement. This Experience is set on lower walls with climbs an average of 25 foot with each student safely locked in where they can’t fall while climbing.
